Anti Cell Phone

All cell phone companies suck

So I recently switched from SunCom to Verizon Wireless for my cell phone service. SunCom would charge me for insane things and then had horrible customer service. They blatantly lied to me about taking my number with me to a new service provider. I followed their directions exactly, and then was told it was too late, and I could no longer take the number with me. Eventually while explaning everything to a manager there, she hung up on me even though I had not raised my voice (which she had), or swore a single time.

This brings me to Verizon. One thing I have found with Vrizon (so far) is that every customer service rep I have talked to has been very polite and helpful. Everything was ok until I took a gander at my first bill online. When I signed up I was told the bill would be around $117 because I basically had to pay for the first 2 months @ $40 each, a $35 activation fee plus taxes. Well I was quite surprised with a $360 bill. I called Verizon and spoke with “Barbara”. She informed me that they had made a mistake and I was put on the wrong plan and I was being charged between $.45 and $.75 per minute for almost every call I made. So I asked her if she could take care of this to which she informs me, the credit amount is more than she is authorized to give so I have to wait 72 hours or more so she can pass the “case” along, then they will give me a call and tell me what has been “decided” and what my new bill is. I can already see it starting all over again.

I have come to the conclusion that all cell phone providers are the same. You are forced to choose the lesser of all evils. If you do not need a cell phone, don’t get one. They are pains and if you ever have a problem with service, billing, or anything else, you will most likely not be satisfied with any service you receive. I hearby would like to start a new cell phone boycott against all cell phone companies until they remedy their horrible practices. I will start as soon as my service contract is over many many moons from now.
