Fock You!

Meet the Fockers (and kwame)

So Katie and I went to see Meet the Fockers last night. While in line there were a couple of kinds in front of us that were about 14 or 15. They started pointing behind me and saying “That’s Kwame Brown, I’m pretty sure that’s Kwame Brown”. So I turn around figuring he is down the street or driving by, to my surprise I turn to see his chest (he’s 6-11) as he is standing about a foot behind me. I didn’t want to be a tool and ask for an autograph or a picture since he was obviously there with some of his family, but I’m 95% sure it was Kwame Brown.

The movie was pretty good. It was what I expected, Ben Stiller in awkward situations diggin himself in deeper the whole time. Not quite as good as the first one but it was a good laugh.

So I found a new free photoshop-like program called Paint.net. Apparently it is the next version of MS paint being developed by some students at Washington State University with some help from Microsoft (it’s open source and written in C# which is pretty cool). It uses layers and you can make your own effects. It’s still a work in progress but it’s pretty cool from what I’ve seen so far (I used it to make the picture for this blog - bigger version here).

JMU National Football Champs

JMU Dukes - National Champs

So James Madison University, my alma-mater won the Division I-AA national football championship tonight. Now many of you may say this means nothing because we are a double-a team instead of single-a team, especially some of the people I work with (VT and MD graduates). Well back off turkies and turtles, the Duke Dog rules tonight (and in the capital one bowl mascot challenge where we dominated everyone including the turtle and the turkey - vote here). When I was at JMU we only had 1 winning season out of 4…and I can’t remember any nationally televised games. Well anyways…go dukes.

I played ESPN Basketball 2k5 online tonight with my ps2. I gotta say it’s pretty fun and it’s free, unlike some other online games.

Movie Review

Ocean's 12 Poster

Went and saw Ocean’s 12 tonight. I gotta say, I was a little dissapointed. There were a few hokie parts with pointless celebrity cameos playing themselves, but I’ll try not to give away anything. Maybe the fact that the first one was based in Vegas around lots of gambling was one of the things I liked about the first movie. This one was in Amsterdam where paintings and eggs are stolen instead of cold hard cash. I think I should have been tipped off when nearly the entire cast did an interview with Diane Sawyers.

I also recently saw The Incredibles which was a really good movie. I’m also looking forward to Meet the Fockers later this month. The previews look pretty good, but I thought the same thing about oceans 12. Hopefully this one will prove to make me urinate with laughter.

Oh..and Saturday Night Live just went off and Colin Farrell said “I shit you not”. My prediction is that there will be complaints to the fcc…just get over it people, words are arbitrary and a Janet Jackson nipple is nothing to complain about!
